Portraits for Independent Musicians and Creatives

Currently booking Friday, June 21st. Please contact me at jacob@33-13.com to inquire about availability.

A well considered portrait can support you in many ways on different platforms, and in many applications. It literally is your ‘face’ when people connect with you on social media, on a concert poster, on your website, in media coverage, and on digital music platforms.

I’m making high-quality, creative portraits accessible to working artists and creatives by offering a special rate for 2-hour portrait shoots on at my studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn. I’ve met many musicians, producers and performers who busy with a multitude of activities but not necessarily working on a release project that would require custom photography. I hope these images can fill a need to help you promote and support your gigs, collaborations, outreach, audience building and general professional presence.

As a photographer, I don’t adhere to any formula; portraiture for me is about reading people and bringing out the real and natural part of them. But to keep these shoots streamlined and affordable, they are organized in the following way:

The Shoot: A sitting is roughly 2 hours plus a little time to settle in and get comfortable. If you will be working with a groomer/hairstylist/make-up artist we can arrange for extra prep time. We’ll have time to do a couple set-ups to incorporate different outfits and approaches. Bring your ideas, clothing and instrument and together we’ll figure out what makes the best images.

After the Shoot:  Within about a week, I’ll send you an edited gallery of images. From there, we will select the core 3 photos that will then be retouched and refined.  Additional images can be prepared at a rate of $50 each.

Usage: Photos are licensed to you for your professional promotion and publicity: website, social media profiles, show posters, PR kits, and use by venues and show promoters. Note: usage for album packaging artwork or merchandise would require a separate license determined on a project by project basis.

Cost: Total cost for session, editing, retouching and usage is $450. A 50% deposit is required to book the shoot with the balance is due on shoot day.
